A few years and a few months ago, I sat down and started stitching this quilt by hand.
.
It gave me a sense of belonging. It gave me a sense of purpose. It gave me a sense of achievement.
.
It now gives me the strength to know that the longing feeling won't last forever. Everything finds its place.

A few years and a few months ago, I sat down looking back at the time when I was stitching.
.
I thought about the time I ran behind a bus in a French town, after collecting the prinred fabric. I thought about the DIY tie dying extravaganza. I thought about the reaction of the jury panel when they saw this quilt.

It now makes me smile, thinking of that blond guy who thought it was not risky to present this hand stitched quilt as the outcome of his photography course. Everything finds its place.

A few years and a few months ago, this quilt turned an interest into a tradition.
.
It showed me that pursuing your interests for your own happiness makes a lot of difference. It showed me that it is possible to stay connected to your own self, even with a million distractions, when you have your sanity-rituals. It helped me calm down and think about tomorrow with an open heart.
.
It now encourages me to put an extra ounce of love-n-care when I do the next right thing. Everything finds its place.
