This is where it started.
.
This quilt was created to cherish special connections. Under the guidance of Lokesh Ghai (@ghailokesh) I stitched my first quilt. From sourcing the material, figuring out how to translate the idea with the composition, to actually staying up late to finish the quilt, it was all about making sure that the quilt gets ready to share the joy of finding someone special.
The joy of finding someone special.
This particular quilt has never left my side. It's a constant reminder to be grateful for having happy smiles around. It's a celebration of forming unseemly friendships and unforgettable surprises. All the colourful squares light up the room and faces. 😊
The back of the quilt is constructed with the bedsheets that I was using when I was stitching. I would sit on my blue bed, with something playing on the side, stitching day and night, doing something new. I had to incorporate that experience in the quilt. This quilt thus became my journal, or a time capsule of sorts. Every time I look at this, I get to remember the sincere efforts, genuine curiosity and unyielding persistence I witnessed around me during the process.
Quilt making has become a part of my life. I am so thankful for that.
Every stitch brings out something personal and that's what makes hand stitched quilts a lot more special.
