Home and the World popularly known as Ghare Baire is a drama set against the backdrop of the partition of Bengal in 1905. A tightly knit story involving sensitive and educated Bimala, her liberal-minded husband Nikhilesh and his friend Sandeep, a charismatic nationalist leader. Being at the centre of innumerable intellectual debates and discussions, though this book, Rabindranath showed how differently we see the world and the people around us when faced with a societal/moral problem.
