Cover design for Dharma: Hinduism and Religions in India
by Chaturvedi Badrinath

Dharma has always been translated, usually, as 'religion'. In this book, it is argued that the Indian civilization is a 'Dharmic' one, founded as it is on the principle of dharma. The concerns of Indian philosophy are the concerns of human life everywhere. Thought provoking, perceptive and challenging many long-held notions, this book focuses on the interaction of different religions over centuries in this land, and the underlying unity of all life.

Back in 2019, working on this important title and designing a cover that makes justice to it was one of the most unique processes. Through my many deliberations with the editors, one thing that spoke to all of us was this particular work titled Bhoomi, by the icon S.H. Raza. A definite privilege to have had collaborated with Christie's (@christiesinc) on this project. One of my favorites.
